Program Executive Office Soldier (PEO Soldier)

JTAPIC Support

Program Executive Office Soldier (PEO Soldier) provides a number of capabilities in support of the Joint Trauma Analysis and Prevention of Injury in Combat (JTAPIC) mission. These include:

• Collecting and analyzing damaged or potentially damaged personal protective equipment from combat incidents or training accidents
• Analyzing damage patterns, severities, locations and trends to evaluate equipment performance, and identify potential for improvements
• Populating JTAPIC incident database with data collected during post-event PPE processing, measurement and analysis in accordance with established guidelines
• Performing and participating in the development of JTAPIC analysis products
• Sharing statistical findings and data with partner organizations
• Providing subject matter expertise on protective equipment performance and performance specifications
• Participating in working groups that strive to solve problems, improve processes and provide collaborative solutions to the overarching JTAPIC process

Mission

The mission of PEO Soldier is to develop and provide superior and sustainable integrated clothing and equipment that protects Soldiers and helps them perform their missions in a rapidly changing global environment. The PEO Soldier-developed and -fielded clothing and equipment protects Soldiers from environmental threats such as heat, cold, inclement weather and insect-borne diseases. The clothing and equipment also provides Soldiers with state-of-the-art protection against threats associated with ballistics: blast overpressure, fragmentation and heat.

About

PEO Soldier develops and fields advanced Soldier protection products and comfortable uniforms that enhance mission effectiveness and improve parachute systems. These products protect Soldiers and allow them to operate in any conditions. There are two product offices under PEO Soldier:

Product Manager Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment (PM SCIE) - Supports Soldiers in multiple operational environments and improves their survivability, safety, mobility and sustainability by providing safe, durable and operationally effective organizational clothing and individual equipment. PM SCIE provides technologically advanced tactical and environmental protective clothing, individual chemical protective gear, load-carrying systems and personnel parachutes, and other related airdrop equipment.

Product Manager Soldier Protective Equipment (PM SPE) - PM SPE provides increased Warfighter lethality and mobility by optimizing Soldier protection while effectively managing all lifecycle aspects of personal protective equipment.
